Bulgogi Beef Bun

Bulgogi is a spicy but simple meat dish that originates from the northern part of Korea. It is very popular as street food in today's South Korea. Loosely translated, the name is 'fire meat' and generally consists of thinly sliced and marinated pieces of beef or chicken. For the Bulgogi beef sandwich we used tender veal escalope, but you can also make it with chicken..

Preperation

  • Make the soft milk buns according to the description
  • Put the pear, ketjap manis, onion, garlic, ginger and sesame oil together in a mixer
  • Grind everything unitl you have a nice smooth sauce, you now have the Bulgogi marinade
  • Cut the veal escalope into thin strips and put them in a bowl
  • Pour almost all the Bulgogi marinade into the veal strips and mix well and let it rest in the fridge for 1 hour
  • Leave a little marinade for later use.

In the pan or in the Wok

  • Grill the marinated veal strips on a teppanyaki or grill pan.
  • After grilling, brush the veal strips with the remaining Bulgogi marinade with a brush
  • Take a sandwich and cut it open in half lengthwise and put some lettuce in it
  • Put enough Bulgogi meat strips on the lettuce and sprinkle some grated cheese (e.g. mozzarella) on top
  • Finish the bun with the Spicy burger sauce

Enjoy your meal

The Bulgogi beef bun is a delicious soft bun with a slightly spicy but spicy taste. At the same time, the pear in the marinade provides a surprisingly fresh bite, which is characteristic of Bulgogi. Delicious for lunch or for on the summer terrace.

  • 2 tbsp Ketjap Manis and sesame oil
