Provencal herbs
The composition of the Provencal herbal mixture is not fixed, traditionally the basic ingredients consist of rosemary, savory, marjoram and thyme, after which basil, sage and lavender can be added. The herbs that are added are best used with pieces of meat to bring out the aroma of the herbs.
Preparation
- Combine all the spices in a bowl and mix well
- Store the spice mix in a dry and dark place in a closed jar
- This way they can be kept for a year If you use fresh herbs, make just enough to use immediately, fresh herbs don't stay fresh for long

Provincial herbs can be used in both French and Italian dishes. From sauce with pasta, marinating chicken, BBQ skewers to butter for a baguette.
